Let God give you all that He wants

Who as a kid has experienced the joy and magic of Christmas, when gifts appeared in abundance under the tree on Christmas morning? This rich experience provides a great jumping off point to understand and appreciate what God our Father has prepared for each one of us who are determined to come home to Him. read more…

Sin, psychology and love

In those circles that follow and discuss depth psychology – especially that which was built up by Carl Jung – there’s a line of thought that suggests we ought to integrate our shadow side.

A black-and-white understanding of our shadow would equate to our dark, immoral side. A shades-of-gray understanding would include underdeveloped aspects of our personality, character weaknesses and all those things we’re too uncomfortable or embarrassed to admit into consciousness. read more…

Today is the Day, Now Is the Time

God calls and passes by. Tomorrow you would no longer find your heart of today or God’s invitation.

Don’t let another blessing or call from God pass you by.

The Compromised Christian

In politics and business, a dark but not uncommon way to get leaders to tote the party or company line is to get some dirt on them and then threaten to tell all. The Gift

You are the gift.

You:  your soul created and sustained by the spirit of God and manifested through your body – your smile, your glance, your touch, your voice. Your mind and all the innate gifts God endowed you with, these constitute the gift that is you.

I cannot be prideful or ashamed of any of these things because they were given. And, in as much as they were given, so I ought to spend the gift of myself and all my talents in the service of God for others.

Knowing that the innate good I possess is not my own doing is at once a relief and an overwhelming responsibility. Relief, because I do not have to worry about taking credit or being embarrassed for having such wealth. Overwhelming, because I must do something with myself, multiplying the gifts I possess as a way of giving thanks to God.

And yet, when all is said and done, I am nothing – a zero. The only thing I can lay claim to is accepting God’s generosity and cooperating with his will for my life. But even that I wouldn’t be able to do without the help of his grace.
